Show Plot Summary

The characters in the main story include Magua, Chingachgook, Uncas, Nathaniel Bumppo/Hawk-eye, Cora and Alice (daughters of Munro), Colonel Munro, David Gamut, Duncan Heyward,General Daniel Webb,Tamenund and General Montcalm

Lieutenant Colonel Munro’s daughters Cora and Alice travel to Fort William Henry in the company of Major Duncan Heyward. Magua, a native guides them through a shortcut that Heyward does not like. Natty Bumppo, Chingachgook and Uncas joins them and they all suspect that Magua is a Huron scout and an ally of the French. Magua realizes this suspicion and escapes.

Having smelt a rat of the return of Magua and his group, the crew goes into a hideout in a cave in a river. Here,true to their suspicion, they are attacked by the Hurons. Natty Bumppo (Hawk-eye) and the Mohicans escape, while Cora and Alice, Heyward and Gamut are captured. Cora is to become Magua’s wife if the crew is to be spared. Since she refuses, they are all sentenced to death, but later, Hawk-eye and the Mohicans rescue them, indeed as they had promised.

The party finally proceeds to Fort Henry. Hawk-eye is sent to Fort Edward. On his way, he is captured by the French who take the letter and return him to Fort Henry. Meanwhile, Heyward and Alice are in love. Though there is an agreement to end the war with the British soldiers, Huron warriors attach British prisoners, and in the event Magua kidnaps Alice and Cora.

Colonel Munro goes to rescue his daughters in Huron village accompanied by Hawk-eye, the Mohicans, and Heyward. Heyward and Gamut set out to rescue Alice while Hawk-eye and Uncas are to rescue Cora. Heyward succeeds in rescuing Alice. Uncas, who had previously been held in captivity finally escapes, together with Hawk-eye. Cora is held at Delaware village, and in an effort to rescue her, Uncas is killed. Magua and Cora herself also lose their lives, and the story ends with details of their funerals.

Summary

Indeed, you can always visit exotic places in the summer but you don’t have to. If you watch the ‘Last of the Mohicans’ Outdoor Theater Show you will get the same exposure. The show follows the events as explained in the above plot summary with refinements here and there to accentuate the audience’s experience.

In short, if you are a fan of outdoor events, I can assure you that the ‘Last of the Mohicans’ Outdoor Theater Show is an event you can’t afford to miss.
